Retrieving GeoGauge Data Using PuTTY

SUMMARY

This document will describe how to retrieve data from a GeoGauge using PuTTY.

SOLUTION

PuTTY Setup

1. Open PuTTY
2. Select Serial for the Connection type.
3. Enter the Serial port of the adapter with IR receiver attached to it.
4. Enter a speed value of 1200 for gauge serial numbers greater than or equal 327 and 4800 if the serial number of the gauge is less than 327.
5. Click Open after completing steps 2 - 4.
6. A terminal window will open and waiting for data.

Transmitting GeoGauge Data

1. Make sure the IR receiver is positioned properly on the gauge.
2. Press SHIFT and then press PRINT to begin the data transmission.
3. Data should begin to stream in the terminal window.

Copy Transmitted Data

1. Wait for the data transmission to complete.
2. After data transmission is complete, press the menu button at the top left in the console window.
3. Select the Copy All to Clipboard option.
4. This data can now be pasted into a text file or into a CSV file.
