SUMMARY
Supporting NEXT modules can report user specified test results to a selected location for LIMS to consume. From there users with their LIMS implementation partners can import the report results into LIMS.
This article will show you how to create LIMS report data from NEXT test modules after creating a LIMS template with the LIMS Template Tool application.
The generated LIMS report data can be saved anywhere on your PC or network.

SOLUTION
Setup Paths
Before data can be exported, the path to the LIMS template, and the path to export LIMS results must be defined.
- From a test module, select the Options tab.
- Select Program Options.
- From the Program Options window, select LIMS Reporting which can be found the Reports section of the items list on the left.
- Select the LIMS template path.
- In the LIMS Template Selection grid, find the test module you are working with.
- Click the
button in column 1 of the row containing the test module you are working with.
- Choose the file of the template that was created with the LIMS Template Tool.
- The output path will be displayed in column 3.
- Select the Output path for the LIMS results.
- You should still be in the LIMS Reporting options.
- Scroll down to the LIMS Output Location grid.
- Find the test module you are working with.
- Click the
button in column 1 of the row containing the test module you are working with.
- Choose the directory where you would like the results to be stored.
- The output directory will be displayed in column 3.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Importing Results
After template path has been selected, data can be imported into the test if importing items have been configured in the template created with the LIMS Template Tool application.
- From a test module, select the Test Parameters tab.
- Click LIMS Import.
- An Open File dialog will appear. Select the CSV file that contains the LIMS data to import into the test.
- A notification will be displayed indicating success or any issues that were generated while importing.

Reporting Results
After template and results paths have been selected, it is easy to generate LIMS results base on NEXT results.
- From a test module, select the Reports tab.
- Provide an export name in the LIMS Report ID field in the Reports ribbon.
- If a name is entered in the LIMS Report ID field, the generated report will be saved with this name.
- Leave this field EMPTY to generate a report using the name of the test opened.
- Click the Create LIMS Report button to generate a report.
