Summary
This article will describe how to reset the USER partition to factory defaults. This is useful in the event the file system is corrupt.
Resolution
- Power OFF and UNPLUG the equipment.
- Remove the screws holding the front panel in place.
- Carefully tilt the front panel forward; the SD card will be located on the back left-hand side of the circuit board.
- Remove the SD card and insert it into a Windows machine, a card reader or micro-SD card adapter may be required.
- If the equipment contains calibrations locate the CAL folder on the USER partition. Copy the .CAL files from the folder to the root directory of a USB stick.
- Format the USER partition with FAT or FAT32.
- In Windows File Explorer right-click on the USER partition drive and select format.
- Place the SD card back in the equipment.
- Put the front panel back in place and secure with screws removed in step 2. Be careful not to over tighten the screws, especially the center screws, as this will cause the touch screen to not function correctly.
- Download the firmware update from www.humboldtmfg.com. Make sure the firmware file is the correct firmware for your equipment. Failure to do so could result in a bricked product requiring the equipment to be sent to Humboldt for repair.
- Once the file is downloaded, rename the downloaded file to RECOVERY.MFU.
- Copy the file to the USB stick where the calibrations were copied in step 5.
- Safely eject the USB stick from the PC.
- Insert the USB stick into the front USB port of the equipment.
- Connect the power cord and turn the equipment ON.
- The equipment should start an installation process.
- After the installation process is finished the equipment will operate as normal.
- You can now import the calibrations from step 2 within the CALIBRATIONS setup option.
NOTES:
- This procedure will erase all calibrations. If step 2 is omitted.
- Be sure to format the USER partition on the SD card.
