Summary
Data from Humboldt equipment can be imported into all NEXT test modules except for the User Defined test module.
NOTE: The 5000 series data exports data to USB stick with extension .HTD. At this time the .HTD file can not be opened directly from the NEXT file create/open window. The .HTD files are only test results from the 5000 series equipment as such the .HTD files must be imported into an existing NEXT test.
Procedure Initial
- Run a test with Humboldt equipment.
- Open the Humboldt NEXT testing module where data will be imported to and create a new test or open an existing test.
- Select the specimen and phase (if applicable) to import the data into.
- Select the Edit tab.
- Click Edit Selected Tab Data button if options in Edit tab are grayed out.
- Click the Import Data button and select Attached Logger option to open import window.
5000 Series Data Import

Network Import
- Under the Network Attached Logger tab select the drop-down list box and select your logger.
- List of available tests can be navigate.
- Select the date the test was performed.
- Select the file.
- A preview of the data will be shown.
- If this is not the data you would like to import, select a different file.
- Once you have found the data you want, click the Import button.
- This data will be imported into the selected specimen.
Local File Import
- Under the Network Attached Logger tab click the Open File button at the bottom right.
- In the Open File Dialog select the file you would like to open.
- A preview of the data will be shown.
- Click the Import button.
- This data will be imported into the selected specimen.
3000 Series Import
- Select the Serial Logger tab.
- A list of available devices will be shown.
- Double-click on the device you would like to retrieve data from.
- A preview of the data will be shown in ASCII text.
- Click the Import button when satisfied with the data.
- This data will be imported into the selected specimen.
From File Import

- Click the Open File Button.
- Select the file to import.
- Summary of the data to import will be shown in the preview window.
- Click the Import button.
- This data will be imported into the selected specimen.
