Some Elite Series load frames use two 36V power supplies to supply the motor. Typically these are adjusted to 34V at the factory to bring the total voltage into compliance with the motor (<70V), but we have identified a few rare cases where the adjustment was not performed. If the motor in your equipment operates erratically or stops suddenly and your firmware is up-to-date, please follow these steps:
- Turn off the load frame
- Remove the six screws holding the front panel to the load frame
- Gently pull the front panel away from the load frame and place it in front of the machine, taking care not to overly stress any cables or connectors
- If the front panel is touching the frame, use two blank sheets of paper to shield it in case of accidental contact
- Locate the power supplies - they are typically 1.5"x4"x6" (40x100x150mm) and have a terminal block on one end
- Turn on the load frame (CAUTION: Do not touch the circuit boards or any exposed conductors.)
- Using a multimeter, check the DC voltage of both power supplies between the "-V" and "+V" terminals
- If the sum of the two voltages is less than 70V, no adjustment is necessary. Otherwise, proceed to step 9.
- Turn off the load frame
- Using a screwdriver, turn the "Vadj" knob counterclockwise 1/8 turn
- Turn on the load frame and check the voltage again. If it is not in compliance, repeat from step 9.
